Scraping antifouling is the job every boat owner dreads. Years of layers, flaking and blistering, come off in a fraction of the time with controlled blasting, leaving a clean, even surface for inspection, epoxy or fresh antifoul.
GRP hulls are taken back gently to the gelcoat or to the laminate for osmosis treatment. Steel and iron keels are blasted to bare metal and should be primed the same day. Trailers, cradles and outdrive legs can be done at the same visit.

Can you blast a GRP hull without damaging the gelcoat?

Yes. The media, pressure and distance are matched to the hull so antifouling comes off while the gelcoat is preserved. If you are preparing for osmosis treatment, we can go deeper and open the laminate instead.
Do you come to the boatyard?

Choose "mobile" when you book and tell us the yard. Mobile marine work depends on yard rules for containment and clean-up, so we check with the yard before we confirm.
What should I put on the hull afterwards?

A bare hull should be sealed promptly. Most owners follow with an epoxy barrier coat, then antifouling. Your chandler or surveyor can advise on the system for your boat.
Do you offer mobile blasting?

Yes. Choose "mobile" when you book and tell us the address. Some jobs, such as fixed railings, boats in a yard or beams in a house, are best done on site.
How much does blasting cost?

Price depends on size, coating and access. Send photos through the contact form for a quote. A half-day or full-day slot is often the simplest way to price larger jobs.
