Car body shell & panel blasting

Car body shell & panel blasting

Every panel, back to honest metal.

Under every classic is a story told in filler, three colours of paint and a patch someone hoped nobody would find. We take it all back to bare steel so the real condition is on show before any welding or paint money is spent.

Shells, doors, wings, bonnets, boot lids and subframes are stripped with the media that suits the panel: fine and controlled on thin sheet steel, heavier on chassis rails and suspension parts.

We work across West Midlands & Staffordshire, in our workshop or on site with a mobile setup. Choose a morning, afternoon or full-day slot on the booking calendar, or send photos for a quote.

FAQ

Cars & classics: questions

Will blasting warp my car panels?

+

Warping comes from heat and the wrong media at the wrong pressure. Thin panels are blasted with finer media at lower pressure and with the nozzle kept moving, which is how panel distortion is avoided.

Do I need to strip the car first?

+

Remove glass, trim, rubbers, wiring and interior before we start. Talk to us about anything you cannot remove and we will mask it where possible.

Can you prime after blasting?

+

Bare steel starts to flash rust quickly. Ask for a protective primer coat when you book so the metal is sealed the same day.

Do you offer mobile blasting?

+

Yes. Choose "mobile" when you book and tell us the address. Some jobs, such as fixed railings, boats in a yard or beams in a house, are best done on site.

How much does blasting cost?

+

Price depends on size, coating and access. Send photos through the contact form for a quote. A half-day or full-day slot is often the simplest way to price larger jobs.
